Background: We know little of Shadows background except her original owners didn’t want her so they gave her to friends. Then she was living outside in the yard with an overturned row boat as her shelter. Those people then decided they no longer wanted her.
Personality: When we received Shadow she was very aggressive with other dogs. Since that time we have worked with her and she is no longer aggressive and she is learning to clam herself down when she becomes over excited. Shadow is a very loving dog and is need of Lots of love and reassurance. Shadow is still somewhat insecure and it will take time, patience and LOTS of love for her to realize her full potential. Shadow is VERY loving and sweet. Shadow does very well with cats. Shadow loves treats (especially Honey Nut Cheerio’s), bones, stuffed animals and toys. Shadow LOVES to cuddle and sleep with you in bed (she likes to sleep up against you so that she knows you are there). She is very loving!
Ideal Home/Family: Shadow would do best in a home where she is the only dog (at least at first), so that she can build her confidence and be assured that she is VERY loved. Shadow needs a family where she means the world to them. Shadow needs someone who is willing to devote time and energy to build up her confidence and trust that she has a FOREVER home and family and know that she is totally loved! Shadow needs a home where there are NO children (at least at first) as she has not been around children.
